Aviation museum

There are some nice planes in Finnish Aviation museum. There were actually two real fighting aces in Finnish aviation army. Both got some 100 wins. Finnish aviation got start in 1918 when country got it independence. Then Swedish Earl gave Finland its first plane. Also blue swastika was taken at that time (1918) as a symbol for Finnish air force. Probably because it was hold as a symbol for good luck.

Here Bristol Blenheim which was used as a bomber during whole war. This model (with long nose) is probably only surviving model.

.
Here the famous Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 which was delivered into Finland just in the last days of war. Finnish fighter aces got more than 600 hundred wins with this famous fighter.

Here fighter from front view. Cannon in middle of the propellers. Actually plane is very slender – and fast…

.
This is Hawker Hurricane. Finnish army had also some Hurricanes but they had too view spare parts which prevented the use. Plane is actually rather straight and simple looking – no curves.

This is Finnish passanger plane from early days.

.
This is interesting plane – Brewster B-239 from USA. Finland had these fighters after winter war. Plane looks very thick and short. Very different compared to Messerschmitt and Hurricane. It was planned to be a aircraft carrier plane in Pasific Ocean. But it did not manage there. However Finnish air force got more than 400 wins and only 19 planes were shot down. So it managed very well in war over Karelia. This plane was shot down into lake after it shot down two enemy planes. Later in 90:s it was saved from lake and fixed.

This guy has suitable clothes and gears for flying…

.
Some older model.

.
This plane was meant to replace Messerschmitt in Finnish aviation force but it never got used in many numbers. It would have been more efficient in speed and firing power but was ended before it was ready for mass production.

.
This plane was used after war for training and education.

.
A radist taking and giving messages.

.
A more closer look over Blenheim from upperside.

.
Same for Hurricane.

.
